Child Dental Benefits Schedule
What is it?
The Child Dental Benefit Schedule has been put in place to provide financial support for basic dental services for those who are aged between 2 and 17 years.
It allows each individual eligible child to receive up to $1000 worth of basic/general dental work over a two-year period.
What do I do if my children are eligible?
Call Beachmere dental on (07) 5496 8579 to make an appointment with our friendly team. Upon arriving, simply provide us with the letter you have received from Medicare outlining your child’s eligibility and provide us with your Medicare card (containing their name).
Do I need to pay upfront and then claim back my money from Medicare?
- With our HICAPS terminal, every claim is done on the spot; so no out of pocket expenses or additional paperwork needs to be carried out.

Who is eligible?
To be eligible, your child/family must be in Family Tax Benefit A, or receive one of the following Government Initiatives:
- Youth Allowance
- Double Orphan Pension
- Disability Support Pension
- Special Benefit
- Carer Payment
- Financial assistance under the Veterans’ Children Education Scheme (if 16 years or older)
- Financial assistance under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act Education and Training Scheme (if 16 years or older)
If your child is eligible, Medicare may have sent you a letter in the mail informing you of this. However, if you are unsure if your child is eligible or not, Use form Below or feel free to call us on (07) 5496 8579 and quote the your Medicare Number.
What does it include?
The Child Dental Benefit Schedule covers a range of general dental services, such as check-ups, cleans, x-rays, fluoride applications, fissure seals, fillings and simple extractions.
